‘Dogsbody’, Brooklyn-based quartet Model/Actriz’ first album, crashed onto music listener’s radars earlier this year like a seismic sea wave. It is easy to see why Cole Haden and company made such a splash upon entrance; their band is ferociously charismatic (a characteristic heightened by their unbridled live performances), and their songs, which take inspiration from the physicality of electronic music, as well as the propulsive sounds of the city, infused with exciting, contagious electricity. Most importantly, underneath their rough exterior, lies a poetic sensitivity, and an invitation to share an unashamedly vulnerable moment together.
