Sounds of Cabo Verde
Michel Andrade is taking on multiple roles at Le Guess Who? 2026: as the co-founder of FAROFFA, he's co-curating Sounds of Cabo Verde. In addition to that program, he will be performing an all vinyl set under the name of MF Andrade. Over the years, Andrade collected records, and now finds himself surrounded by a mountain of “black gold,” having built an extensive and rare record collection. His archive spans Cabo Verdean music, Brazilian sounds, Moroccan rhythms, Studio One classics, old-school hip-hop, Detroit house and techno, and deep-rooted African tribal sounds, alongside countless other gems from around the world.
This artist is part of Sounds of Cabo Verde, a special program dedicated to the diversity of Cabo Verde music culture, its traditions and the Cabo Verdean diaspora in the Netherlands.
