Low Jack presents Lacrimosa with Ensemble vocal Voix des Outre-Mer
Composed by Low Jack, Lacrimosa is a contemporary requiem in eight parts that follows the journey of a day, from sunrise to sunset. Deeply tied to the composer’s own life, the work reflects on loss, memory and mourning. Weaving classical music with contemporary influences, Low Jack transforms autobiographical elements into messianic, polyglot form unfolding across eight movements that trace the storms and serenity of grief. Drawing sonic inspiration from Alice Coltrane’s Eternity and the traditional requiem mass for the dead, Lacrimosa is performed with Voix des Outre-Mer, consisting of opera singers who showcase the cultural richness of the French overseas territories and whose voices move through themes of loss, sorrow and transformation.
