Koshiro Hino

Koshiro Hino is a composer, musician and label owner whose practice is deeply rooted in Osaka’s rich heritage of avant-garde culture and sonic experimentation. He simultaneously runs the cassette label birdfriend and the vinyl label NAKID, one of this year’s COSMOS Embassies. Across projects such as goat (JP) and bonanzas (in which physical avant-garde rock sensibility takes shape), as well as performing as YPY alongside Valentina Magaletti, Hino continuously redefines his sonic terrain. His vast body of work also includes the immersive full-body auditory live performance GEIST, film scores, and numerous other interdisciplinary projects. Moving fluidly between electro-acoustic experimentation and modular synth soundscapes, he weaves precise minimal patterns with dense, distorted textures.
