Chicago-bred singer and producer KeiyaA may be a newcomer to R&B, her airy yet thoughtful 2020 debut, ‘Forever Ya Girl’ may very well be her ticket to being spoken in the same breath as Solange and Erykah Badu in the near future. But, even in the present day, she is commanding attention on her own, enthralling new audiences on both Tiny Desk and Boiler Room. No wonder; after hearing her lush production, celestial voice and introspective lyricism one can clearly understand the hype.
