Injury Reserve
Phoenix rap trio Injury Reserve’s momentum, fostered through their eponymous 2019 record, was put on hold in 2020 when rapper and member Stepa J. Groggs tragically passed away. In 2021, rapper Ritchie With a T and producer Parker Corey returned with ‘By the Time I Get to Phoenix’ - largely finished before Grogg’s passing with his contribution. On it, Ritchie and Corey bend the often covered song to their unique impression, pulling from the past, the present, and their own vision of the future of hip-hop.
