Ilsha
With their 2021 debut record ‘Dive’, Rotterdam folk outfit Ilsha intend to offer comfort to those who are ‘sad and weeping’; the project, released under the wing of Dutch DIY Tiny Room Records, sees songwriter Ilse Hamelink snapshotting particular moments in time, framed by the feelings and thoughts of those precise instances. It is no coincidence Hamelink is also a music/art/nature therapist; her sound, crafted with musicians such as Gerrit van der Scheer (Bonne Apart, Herrek), Aino Vehmasto (The Secret Love Parade), Anna Berkhof and Floyd Atema (Herrek) seeks to give guidance and ultimate peace to those listening.
