How does a tale carry over into our world? Helen Papaioannou and Noriko Okaku may have discovered how. They’ll present their findings with their surreal audiovisual performance collaboration ‘That Long Moonless Chase /  その長い月のない追跡’. This mixed-media experience, which fuses music (baritone sax, electronics, and recorded voices), text, and visuals, spills onto the stage two folk tales hailing from opposite corners of the globe. In the AV piece, translators flip-flop between Japanese and English, and the increasingly warped voices, plus the eerie soundtrack lurking underneath, welcome the Kyoto and Yorkshire folk horror into reality.
