From Sound to Action: Agency and Equity in Music Today
Sound & Culture Summit
In a world of natural and human-made disasters, what agency do we have as individuals? More specifically: how can we go beyond listening and transcend into moving and shaking matters beyond the dance floor?
Drawing on existing tools to transform gender (im)balance in the music landscape (including the Keychange Pledge and Manifesto), we will work and think together to identify our own positions and agency. The goal is to come up with everyday actions for change, encompassing everything from the large organizational and institutional spaces that develop over months and years, to the small, everyday decisions we make and actions we take – both of which are necessary to see the world change.
The aim is to tackle inequality from an intersectional and gender perspective, and to think collaboratively of ways to action our demands for a more equitable world.
