Desert blues heroes Etran de L’Aïr make a triumphant return to Le Guess Who?, invited by guest curators Tropical Fuck Storm, with many tours and accolades under their belt. Having perfected their craft over twenty-five years in the local wedding circuit of Agadez, Niger, the band needs just a few songs to get the audience warmed up and dancing. Their music is exuberant, the vivacious electric guitar interplay is invigorating and their unison vocals simply infectious. With a myriad of cultural influences, from Northern Malian blues to Hausa bar bands to Congolese Soukous, they play in a pan-African style that is emblematic of their hometown.

The post-apocalyptic acid punk disco scuzzheads have curated a sonically diverse mix featuring longtime musical inspirations, friends and collaborators; artists that they've met on the road, and acts that they've been eager to see live.
