As hip-hop turns fifty, many heads turn backwards to admire those who were there from the start. Despite not being a rap joint, ESG (Emerald, Sapphire & Gold) are among them. Thanks to spacey track ‘UFO’, the South Bronx rock band provided the building block for countless embryonic hip-hop experiences. Their one-of-a-kind sound, which can be heard across their decade-spanning discography, continues to inspire creatives from diverse spheres. Coinciding with the release of their documentary, ‘Are You Serious?’, the band is coming to Le Guess Who?, where we are honored to host them for their last time performing in Europe.
