DINfidel

Jagannathan Sampath, or DINfidel, is a computer programmer who makes music on his computer called DIN Is Noise. Sampath started his screen career elsewhere, as he began writing computer animation software for media in India and the United Kingdom. In 2006, inspiration struck; and, note by note, he started unraveling a new noise practice born out of programming. Flat shapes became waveforms, Piet Mondriaan's work turned into instruments, and sound metamorphosized into music. Sampath is still exploring, and integrating Indian classical music rhythms into the software for his performance.
