Britain's 'reggae maestro' Dennis Bovell earned his reputation over four decades ago as one of the genre's boldest pioneers. The Barbados-born musician and producer moved to the UK at twelve, where he was particularly active in the seventies and eighties scene. He has taken part in a wide range of endeavors - from playing with others to solo incursions, to writing for television and film. He continues to prove himself as inventive as ever - even collaborating with newer artists such as fellow Le Guess Who? attendees Animal Collective.
