Camille Mandoki
Curated by Lucrecia Dalt
Be it through stumbling, decaying melodies, or menacing flurries of percussion, Mexican singer and sound artist Camille Mandoki explores the wildest shores of catharsis. Her voice may very well be her most precious instrument; in her 2016 debut, ‘We Used To Talk For Hours’, she achieves depth and melancholic expressions that go far beyond pop stylings, by using her instrument as an object of choral beauty. Mandoki performs both by herself and with an all-female group she calls a ‘sound and body confession room’.
