At The Sonic Front | Workshop
Sound & Culture Summit
This workshop starts with a lecture which is necessary to attend for participation.
Join Dirar Kalash at At The Sonic Front: this double program focuses on the relationships between sound, silence, time, space, and their positions and configurations within multiple layers of everyday life and practice. All this in relation to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
Dirar shares a multi-layered reading of Memory for Forgetfulness (1995) by Mahmoud Darwish and Gazan testimonies. From writing and narrating the Nakba to the current transformations of time and space in Palestine under the ongoing genocide, we analyze possible relationships between lived experiences and the writing of history. Not from a theoretical or intellectual position, but from a conscious and committed one.
During this workshop, through listening, thinking and mapping exercises, participants explore and discuss questions on solidarity, engagement, everyday practice and activism. Do you want to join the workshop? Pre-register here to secure your spot.
