A.R. Kane
A seminal group for the foundation of the shoegaze and dream pop sound, A.R. Kane drenched the late 1980s with a blissful sound that reshaped indie music, blending pop, dub, jazz, dance, noise guitar and psychedelia. Making large use of distortion, together with dub techniques, hypnotic electronic beats and catchy melodies, the original duo Alex Ayuli and Rudy Tambala created an unheard kind of pop music that topped the charts and influenced the upcoming genres of alternative music. Their sound drifts between beauty and chaos, dance and experimental, and their legacy is embedded in carving out a unique musical path that has secured their cult status. The current live line-up features Tambala at the controls and the original clarinetist Steven Benjamin.
