Just shy of the start of the decade, Brian Warren and Quentin Branch presented Angry Blackmen with the EP ‘TALKSHIT!’. Since then, the pair has amassed a well-earned cult following among hip-hop connoisseurs. The Chicago-hailing duo have spent the past few years building up on this bubbling momentum, interspersed with new releases. The most recent is this year’s ‘The Legend of ABM’, a no-nonsense smack to the listeners' eardrums that rings louder with each track. Warren and Branch trade bars on the horrors of contemporary America over moody, distorted instrumentals, and they prove they have now set off in their path, apart from their inspirations.
