Alabaster DePlume

Following a stellar performance last year, Alabaster DePlume was an undeniable invitee to Le Guess Who?'s anniversary edition. This time, he too is celebrating - in his case, the release of this year's 'Gold'. His first since 2020, the double album was recorded at London’s Total Refreshment Centre (TRC), each day by different musicians who Alabaster DePlume himself cut together for the final, colorful collage. The Manchester-born, London-based musician's process is centered not on the product, but, rather, on the people. His music, continuously built on luminous tones, transmits serenity - unless it rages against late capitalism.
