Oroko is a not-for-profit independent internet radio station based in Accra, Ghana. We aim to connect, inspire and empower through conversation, collaboration and community. Oroko Radio provides a stage for musicians, DJs, thinkers, moderators, and content creators: an independent hub for expression of self and thought through sound.

With the digital age and globalisation blurring the lines between borders, Ghana finds itself at the epicentre of a cultural evolution sweeping across Africa, with both Ghanaian and international influences acting as driving forces. Mainstream music often takes centre stage, however the undercurrent of alternative options grows ever stronger, with new projects, parties and perspectives popping up across the country every month. For the Oroko Radio x Cosmos collaboration, Oroko Radio will use a collage of audio and video content to present a medley of different approaches from Ghana's continually evolving alternative music scene. From DJs at local open air pubs to selectors at underground DIY club nights, Ghana is home to a profound amount of innovation, with music enthusiasts on a constant journey to reinvent and re-present the music listening experience.
