The Homesick, originating from the quaint Dutch town of Dokkum, is boldly entering their "weirdopop" era with their new self-titled album, released almost a decade after their first EP Television.
Departing from their guitar-driven roots, the trio, comprising of Elias Elgersma, Jaap van der Velde, and Erik Woudwijk has been recognized by their willingness to experiment and evolve their sound. The Homesick finds the Frisian trio embracing their quirkier side, opting for samplers and synthesizers rather than guitars – a side they teased in 2020’s The Big Excercise. With their latest release, The Homesick continues to redefine their musical identity while maintaining a signature sense of innovation. Listen to The Homesick in full below.
The Homesick performs at Le Guess Who? 2023 on Friday 9 November.
