*update: the band have now released their new album 'Stumpwork'. Stream below:
Just a year after 'New Long Leg', which was filled to the brim with unheard-of snark, courtesy of vocalist Florence Shaw's quick-witted lyrics, London's Dry Cleaning have announced the follow-up to their debut album. 'Stumpwork' is out October 21 via 4AD.
The band have now shared the first single from the John Parish–produced album, with an animated video created by Peter Millard. Watch it below.
"Don't Press Me" is vintage Dry Cleaning, with vocalist Florence Shaw spinning a yarn that’s oddly specific, a little surreal, and taps into something deeply existential. In this instance, she’s mostly talking about gaming and enjoying life’s little pleasures without guilt, speaking — and even softly crooning a bit — over a punchy tangle of guitars and drums" - Rolling Stone
Dry Cleaning perform at Le Guess Who? 2022 on Friday, 11 November. Also performing at the festival are a.o. Animal Collective, Low, Goat, Horse Lords, Rats on Rafts: Visions Of Chapter 3 (live), EXEK, Trees Speak, and many more.
