Still House Plants (2024)
Curated by Bo Ningen
Beneath Still House Plants’s post-rock skin thumps a glowing pop heart, and this year’s ‘If I don't make it, I love u’ reveals the UK trio’s anatomy better than any previous record of theirs. Their deceptively simple set-up - guitar, drums, and vocals - conceals complexity; sampling, slowcore, and repetition are elements the band has been perfecting since forming over a decade ago. Still House Plants’ electric chemistry - Pitchfork suspects it to be ‘telepathic’ -, perhaps a result from this being their first time writing all living in the same city, resulted in their most generous release to date.
