Rachika Nayar
Friday
In just two years, the Brooklyn-based composer and producer Rachika Nayar’s digitally processed guitar compositions have rewritten both the instrument and electronic music conventions. Following the release of her critically acclaimed 2022 sophomore ‘Heaven Come Crashing’, in which she traded her debut’s ambient sensibilities for arresting electronic maximalism, this year Nayar is reinventing herself once more with ‘fragments (expanded)’. The bedroom-recorded release is a quieter, but soul-stirring still, new entry into her discography. Her ever-moving compositional goalpost has earned Nayar praise from The New York Times, NPR, and many more publications.
