Whether they intend to or not, Negativland have bursted many bubbles over the decades with their quizzical remapping of pop culture, media and advertising. Though Negativland consider themselves artists first and activists second, their art and media interventions have a way of exposing the world’s subliminal truths, posing both serious and silly questions about the nature of sound, media, control, ownership, propaganda and perception in the United States of America.
