Upon hearing the richness in their tracks, you’d be surprised to discover MEMORIALS is not a 5-piece band, but, rather, a duo made up of Verity Susman (frontwoman of Electrelane), and Matthew Simms (of Wire, Better Corners, It Hugs Back, UUUU). Together, the two multi-instrumentalists mushroom themselves on the stage, spreading across different genres; from the sunny melodic songwriting of ‘It’s In Our Hands’, to the grimmer psychedelic rock of ‘Boudicaaa’, and moments of free jazz freakouts, tape loops, and drones. Their sound, to be fully uncovered in a soon to come debut LP, is filled with shocking and delightful thunderbolts.
