Mazis
U? Centraal presents: MOḌA
Mazis tells his story with music—recognizable stories of dreams, sadness, and freedom. He was imprisoned in Iran because he made his voice heard as a musician, monitored for years, and then fled to the Netherlands to find his freedom here. Initially singing about oppression and liberation, now music is a way to heal and find hope. With sensitive songs about love, starting over, and finding your place in the world, Mazis touches on the universal search for light after times in the dark.
This program is part of U? Centraal presents MOḌA. MOḌA is an exhibition that showcases the artistic work and personal stories of cutting-edge designers and artists from Morocco and the Moroccan diaspora in the Netherlands. To celebrate both the exhibition and the great importance of nurturing the community, U? and Centraal Museum are collaborating with BOKS, Buddy to Buddy, and Younity to host a grand community-focused gathering that includes live music, fashion, food, DJ sets, and workshops.
