Explore the line-up of U? 2024 with our official playlist

Musically, U? features a.o. the Amsterdam-based group Devon Rexi, founded by Nic Mauskovic (AKA Nicolini, former Le Guess Who? artist) and Nushin Naini, who create dubby, experimental music with Farsi vocals; the playful and colorful sounds of vocal artist and DJ TiZi; multi-disciplinary Belgian-Angolan artist Martha Da'ro, whose music is a mix between moods and styles, from bastardized R&B to hypermodern electrosoul and a contemporary version of the blues; brand-new hip-hop project Vudu Cru; multi-instrumentalist Jespfur with pieces of hypnagogic pop, experimental rock and neo-psychedelia; duo Illnoledge, whose craft is an embodiment of their philosophy of the close relationship between music and spirituality, putting the focus on Black cultural heritage; L.A. Sagne, which is totally punk - like a Marshall amp cranked up to make your ears bleed; and Brussels-born, Rotterdam-based singer-songwriter Viana Afoumou, who creates, in her own words, "something like experimental pop".

Besides the artists included in this playlist, there are also a lot of other music-focused programs and performances to be experienced during U?, such as Sounds Like Touch presents Bromwol, an interactive performance where you can experience and play electronic textile musical instruments; Jam Out, a jam session where Dutch and (undocumented) Newcomers can meet through music; Ethiopian-Eritrean poet and spoken word artist Denk Neni; Rotterdam based performer and DJ Mau’s Acid Machine, who aims to generate and play synth-heavy tunes with influences from acid, rave, and electro sounds; Maha, who draws inspiration from the raw and vibrant spirit of 70s punk, fearlessly tackling systemic issues through her lyrics; Etta HarBar, who uses circuit bent toys and hacked technology to make her own style of music that is original and raw; and much more.
