Japanese musician and sound artist Haco received international recognition as the founder, singer, and composer of legendary avant-pop group After Dinner. Hailed as one of the first female proponents of Onkyo equipment, Haco’s work transcends conventional genres and national borders, as she became known for repurposing field recordings and environmental sounds to create surreal widescreen compositions and productions. One of her more recent works, ‘Qoosui’, fuses Japanese traditional music with free-improv, shoegaze, musique concrete and rudimentary electronics.
