Christopher C. King’s relationship with the folk traditions of Epirus, a mountain region connecting Greece with the southern parts of Albania, occupies a special place in his heart, driving him to ask the most essential of questions, like for instance, why humans make music in the first place. The Grammy-winning producer, musicologist and author will present personally selected recordings of Epirus from the 1920s and 1930s on the 78 rpm format for Le Guess Who?, will read from his book Lament from Epirus, and shed light on the ancient musical traditions of Northwestern Greece.
