Contradiction alone could describe this Copenhagen-based composer, producer and viola player - but it wouldn’t be enough. Inspired by postmodern and minimalist music, singing in a choir and playing in a jazz band, Astrid Sonne’s influences are many; and they are all surprisingly present in her music. Electronic experiments coexist with baroque approaches, and there is space for improvisation amongst composition. Her most recent album, ‘outside of your lifetime’, released in 2021, proves how to blend all of these together in a seamless way.
