LGW & Nature and Environment Federation Utrecht support six local, sustainable initiatives

Since 2022, Le Guess Who? collaborates with the Nature and Environment Federation Utrecht to offset CO2 emissions from international air travel by artists and visitors.

In 2025, festival visitors again had the option to compensate the CO2 emission of their trip to Utrecht when buying a ticket. Additionally, LGW compensates CO2 emission from air travel of festival artists.

Thanks to the funds raised in 2025, we are able to provide financial support for six circular, residential initiatives in the province of Utrecht, aimed at reducing waste, minimizing the use of raw materials and lowering CO2 emissions.

All six initiatives were selected by the Nature and Environment Federation Utrecht, an NGO committed to a beautiful, healthy and sustainable province of Utrecht, with a beautiful landscape, rich nature and clean environment. Read the full article on their website (in Dutch).

• De Plandelman cleans up plastic and other litter through group walks.

• Creator & De Reparatiebalie makes clothing repairs visible and accessible.

• Off Trend demonstrates that fashion can also be circular and local by focusing on reuse and upcycling.

• Meal Prep Zeist helps households reduce food waste through smart planning and cooking.

Sustainability at Le Guess Who?

In previous years, Le Guess Who?'s CO2 compensation was invested in the planting of 3000 trees, in the realization a sustainable roof at Hof van Cartesius, a unique circular workspace for creative entrepreneurs in Utrecht, and the support of several Repair Cafés in Utrecht.

Le Guess Who? has published a Sustainability Manifesto on its website to provide more insight into the ways in which the organization is committed to making the festival more sustainable.
