Every first Monday of the month, COSMOS broadcasts episodes of their radio show on Refuge Worldwide, highlighting their deep-running network of partners from around the world. On Monday, 2 September, from 4-6 PM, COSMOS returns with two new episodes.
Buh Records
The first hour is curated by Peruvian avant-garde stalwarts Buh Records who showcase the current electronic sounds of their region. Buh Records is a record label based in Lima-Peru, founded in 2004 by Luis Alvarado. Focused on a wide universe of experimental and unconventional music, with outstanding work in the historical archive of Peruvian and Latin American experimental and avant-garde music, they've been making waves internationally. For this mix, Luis Alvarado selects fresh new sounds coming out of Lima – from industrial beats to mysterious, introspective soundscapes. To be fair, it’s not all about the Peruvian capital: the mix features two artists from Puno and Arequipa, as well two Peruvian artists currently based in Germany.
ICRN
For the second hour of COSMOS on Refuge Worldwide, our friends from ICRN (The Independent Community Radio Network). ICRN operates out of Vilnius, Lithuania to bring together DIY broadcasters from the Baltics and beyond. Their mission is to create a transnational network of like-minded broadcasters who support each other with their knowledge, resources, equipment and bandwidth. For their COSMOS mix, ICRN tapped Deividas, aka. Quaint, a DJ from Vilnius and member of the electronic music collective minimal.lt.
