The Jonny Halifax Invocation
London-based blues outsider Jonny Halifax summons swamp blues, cosmic jazz, and more for this year's consciousness-expanding 'Acid Blüüs Räägs : Vol. 1'. It might not be a coincidence that his new project's debut LP was released just before summer, as its hypnotic drone is best relished under a blazing sun. Following the previous one-man-band project Honkeyfinger, the gospel psych of Jonny Halifax & The Howling Truth, and ambient drone metal venture Deathenteredinerror, Halifax is now inspired by Henry Flynt’s experimental bluegrass, Spaceman 3's sitar music, and the monolithic drone immersion of Sunn O))).
