The Avonden
The Avonden is the brainchild of prolific Dutch musician and visual artist Marc van der Holst (ex-Hospital Bombers and Spilt Milk). Debut LP ‘Nachtschade’, issued on Subroutine Records, tallies seventeen folk vignettes that playfully amble between poignant, cutting and wry reflections. Though Van der Holst’s vivid wordplay is cryptic in nature, his disarming wit and heartfelt delivery permeate through with a whispered assurance.
