If you’re on the lookout for a perfect description of Japanese duo Tenniscoats, look no further than Swedish soundscape artist Tape’s assessment: 'they literally play themselves to sleep'. Upon coming into contact with the loveliness of Saya and Takashi Ueno’s music, one understands this is meant to be taken as a compliment. Tenniscoats’ records surpass classification – although Saya has previously named it 'avant-pop'. For now, we’ll simply name it what it is; warm, snug and impossibly cozy.
