Questions of Home
Raziyah Heath is an independent curator (a.o at Metro54), programmer, curious cat, hater, organizer, killjoy, lover, DJ and artist. At the moment she mainly delves into sonic realms/dimensions, and uses DJing under the name Chinnamasta as a medium for research and discoveries.
Their work aims to uncover the cross pollinations of Afro-diasporic (sub)cultures and sonic threads and centralizes the variations, range and intersectionality of lived experiences as a result of this.
For U?, she presents an iteration of the series ‘Questions of Home’. In this series she explores the question of "Home" for those who are often disenfranchised in society within the communities that Raziyah embodies. What is it like to sustain a community in Babylon, where institutional, bureaucratic and legislative forces are silently and helplessly terrorizing individuals within communities?
‘Questions of Home’ addresses the various components, attributes, sounds, struggles, foods, gestures, joys and vibes of what it means to have a sense of “home”.
Raziyah is also a resident at Oroko Radio with her series 'the Echochamber' which zooms in on Diasporic sounds, cultures, technologies, sciences, spiritualities and secret languages. With her alter persona Chinnamasta she delves more into sonic realms to explore and express.
Raziyah Heath is one of the curators.
