MC Yallah

Born Yallah Gudencia Mbidde in Kenya and raised in Uganda, MC Yallah is a seasoned industry veteran, having first stepped onto the hip-hop scene in 1999. Her expressive and poetic rhymes, which came in Luganda, Luo, Kiswahili, and English, quickly led her to rise to the country’s mainstream. Following a short hiatus, MC Yallah returned to the stage in 2018, invigorated by a newfound central role in the Nyege Nyege family. This April, she released ‘Yallah Beibe’, a patchwork of futuristic cyber-rap fastened together with her ever-impressive flow, cementing the rapper once more as a force to be reckoned with in the East African scene.
