Leave it to Dominican-American booth wizard Kelman Duran to surprise listeners at every turn. The LA artist, musician, visual artist, filmmaker, and academic’s electronic abstractions derive from and end up on nearly anywhere; from covert clubs to Beyoncé’s 2022 masterwork ‘Renaissance’. This year, Duran, who is more family than a guest at Le Guess Who? - this being his third performance at the festival - will repeat the feat, inviting audiences to the steamy world of 2021’s ‘Night In Tijuana’. His music is deeply moving, without ever foregoing the violent crudeness of the themes he touches on - racism, police brutality, and oppression.
