According to the band itself, it was a ‘common misinterpretation of psychosis’ that led Ice Balloons to start making music. The Brooklyn-based noise/rock band features Sean Kennerly (Samiam) on bass and vocals, Kyp Malone (TV on the Radio) on synthesizers and modules, and Lyla Vander (Habibi) on drums and vocals… Oh, and they are usually fronted by a giant golden fly, or, rather, the singer in a fly costume - which adds to the marvelous strangeness of their songwriting, most of it about insects.
