Despite its apparent frigid exterior, Hilary Woods’ debut LP ‘Colt’ is ultimately an inviting listening experience. Woods’ minimalist ambient pop compositions come to life with just a scarce set-up of drum computers, synths and piano. However, the album’s musical depth delves further than just its sum of parts; in the far distance through the thick haze, the rustic warmth of folk beckons like a flickering fireplace behind a windowpane.
