British-Armenian producer Hagop Tchaparian did not walk into dance music in a straight line. Rather, he was previously most known for playing guitar in the short-lived British pop-punk band Symposium. After the band dissolved, he started orbiting London’s club scene and harvesting inspiration for his debut, ‘Bolts’. The record, released on Kieran Hebdan (AKA Four Tet)’s label Text, is a labor of love, crafted from the producer's sonic field notes gathered across the globe, while also drawing inspiration from his family's history. They come in diverse shapes, and sizes, from club-ready tracks to sprawling and beautiful soundscapes.
