Film: Cryptozoo

Film: Cryptozoo

California, 1970. While the youth engages in the sexual revolution, anti-government protests, and the Vietnam War, a different kind of battle takes place underground. Vet Lauren Gray tracks down magical creatures, rescues them from abuse and shelters them in her Cryptozoo. However, the military opposes her when they decide to get their hands on the greatest cryptid of all: the dream-devouring chimera Baku. It becomes their mission to harness his power and destroy the dreams of the nascent counterculture. The soundtrack of the film is composed by John Carroll Kirby, who will perform with Eddie Chacon at Le Guess Who? the same day as this film screening.
