Sounds of Places
Ramallah, Palestine-based interdisciplinary artist Julmud collaborates with British-Palestinian movement creative Sasha Shadid on a piece that speaks about the aesthetics of the Cremisan Valley in Palestine and the way the occupation forces have been using the last green space around Bethlehem to further suffocate its community. The performance uses the body as a medium for claiming the land, celebrating its ample and smooth curves, its terraces and the bearing trees it cradles.
This performance is part of Sounds of Places, initiated by Radio Alhara and commissioned by Wonder Cabinet, a residency-based sound gathering that focuses on the sonic aesthetics of place. The first edition took place in 2024 in the Cremisan Valley, one of the last green spaces around the city of Bethlehem, Palestine. Now, the artists involved in this residency present their works at Le Guess Who?.
