A shepherd becoming the ‘world’s best guitarist’ (according to Noisey), Omara 'Bombino' Moctar makes use of the electric guitar like few others. The Nigerien Tuareg musician was raised amidst governmental violence and persecution, and the force of resistance is brought out in each one of his electrifying riffs. Despite being raised on Hendrix and Knopfler, Bombino breathes new life onto his strings. Last September, he releases his first full album in over five years via Partisan Records. The album, 'Sahel', was produced by David Wrench (David Byrne, Frank Ocean, Caribou, The xx) and was recorded at Studio HIBA in Casablanca, Morocco.
