Bombino

A shepherd becoming the ‘world’s best guitarist’ (according to Noisey), Omara 'Bombino' Moctar makes use of the electric guitar like few others. The Nigerien Tuareg musician was raised amidst governmental violence and persecution, and the force of resistance is brought out in each one of his electrifying riffs. Despite being raised on Hendrix and Knopfler, Bombino breathes new life onto his strings. A new record, following 2019's 'Live In Amsterdam' (recorded at Melkweg), is set to release soon. Bombino's mission - to earnestly share the beauty of Tuareg culture with others - remains awe-inspiring over a decade after his debut.
