Automatic is a fairly recent Stones Throw export, and the positive attention captured by their debut, 2019’s ‘Signals’, prove they are a successful gamble for the left-field label. Their brand of post-punk isn’t without surprises; despite the three piece’s cool, aloof music, their name is a tribute to cheerful new-wave band The Go-Go’s - the only female band to have written and played their instruments on an album to reach #1 in the US.
