Accommodation outside Utrecht
Accommodation in Utrecht is in high demand during the festival and the prices can be potentially increased during the time. Therefore, it is recommended to also look into accommodation options in the surrounding areas of Utrecht, where there might be more availabilities with budget friendly options.
If you are staying outside of Utrecht during the festival, there are trains and buses running throughout the day that connect you to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Hoofddorp, Amersfoort, Zeist, Hilversum and Woerden. After midnight, travel options from Utrecht to these cities are still available. See below for more information.

Trains from Utrecht Centraal to Amsterdam Centraal (28 minutes), Amsterdam Amstel (18 minutes), Hoofddorp (40 - 58 minutes) and Rotterdam Centraal (37 minutes) run all night long. For other cities near Utrecht, check the tables below as a reference.

The Dutch Railways
To travel with NS (the Dutch Railways) you can either buy a single-use chipcard or an OV-chipkaart at the ticket machine (note: the OV-chipkaart can also be used to travel with public transport in Utrecht and most notably to hire a useful OV-bike at the NS stations). Purchased train tickets are valid from 0.00 AM on the travel date until 04.00 AM on the following morning.
