Since co-founding the seminal Sonic Youth in the early 80’s, Kim Gordon has remained at the nexus of music, art and (more recently) books and film. Earlier this year, she redefined her legacy with her sophomore solo album The Collective; now she releases the new, stand-alone single ECRP.
The song comes accompanied by a video directed by Kim Gordon's daughter Coco Gordon Moore, featuring a collage of shots of New York street scenes to perfectly align with the industrial-sounding rawness of the music.
"New song ‘ECRP’ is part of the energy surrounding ‘The Collective’ while also remaining separate and distinct. A non-album single, it carries a disorienting narrative sense, with Kim Gordon intoning “rumours of free speech” and “ashes on the nightstand” - CLASH
