After busy years of activity with Armand Hammer and various collaborations alongside RP Boo, Shabaka Hutchings and others, rapper and producer ELUCID releases his third solo album REVELATOR, out on 11 October via Fat Possum Records.
On the new album, ELUCID ventures on left field productions as he strives to create an atmosphere of chaos, embracing experimental electronics and atonal sample bursts. He worked on much of the album with co-producer Jon Nellen, who comes from a background in avant-garde and Indian classical music, and avant-garde jazz bassist Luke Stewart makes multiple appearances. The first single is the laid-back, wheezing track INSTANT TRANSFER, one of the album’s two collaborations with Armand Hammer partner billy woods.
ELUCID performs at Le Guess Who? 2024 on Thursday 7 November. Also performing at the festival are a.o. Theo Parrish, Crystallmess, Angry Blackmen, Shabjdeed & Al Nather, HiTech, Rp Boo, Blackhaine, and many more.
