The synthpop songs of the Utrecht one-man band Yakuni Tunes contain solid drum computer beats, dreamy vocals and layered retro keyboards. These songs go hand in hand with lyrics about heartache, failed affairs and self-pity. The debut EP ‘wallow’ was released in March 2022 on IJsvogel Records. For U? Yakuni Tunes expands to a three-piece, which guarantees a dosage of dreamy indie pop with tailor-made animation projections by various Utrecht artists.
In de synth pop nummers van de Utrechtse eenmansband Yakuni Tunes gaan stevige drumcomputer beats, dromerige zangpartijen en gelaagde retro keyboards hand in hand met teksten over hartezeer, mislukte affaires en zelfmedelijden. In maart 2022 kwam het debuut-EP ‘wallow’ uit op het label IJsvogel Records. Voor U? breidt Yakuni Tunes uit tot drietal dat garant staat voor een dosis dromerige indie pop met op maat gemaakte animatieprojecties van verschillende Utrechtse kunstenaars.
